A law student Akash Kumar filed a complaint with the Consumers Commission that the “More Mega” was selling plastic bags with their company logo, which is why the complainants use them as an advertising tool leading to the assumption of unfair trading practice, apart from deceiving the services and practice committing wrong acts that are highly objectionable.

The Commission decided that disclosing the price of carrier bags at the payment counter was an unfair practice. The Commission instructed that free tote bags should be made available to all customers in case they were to print their company logo on their tote bags.

The commission also ordered the company to pay Rs 15,000 to the complaint in compensation for collecting fees from it for tote bags bearing the company logo.
