Arizona Sports Betting Market receives sports betting in adjacent stadiums

The major stadiums in downtown Phoenix will both have sports betting, like that Arizona Sports betting landscape is taking shape.

Governor Doug Ducey signed the Arizona Sports Betting Act and a new tribal treaty last month. Since then, sports betting partnerships have sprung up in Arizona as well as clarity about when the state could start.

On Thursday the Arizona Diamondbacks announced a partnership with Caesar’s sports betting to create a stadium book Chase Field. The deal will also enable online sports betting for Caesars in the state.

“We have long been successful in Arizona and are excited to offer sports betting in addition to the Arizona Diamondbacks,” said Caesars Entertainment, CEO Tom Reeg said in a statement. “Together, we have the ability to provide new ways for baseball fans to experience the game in person near the ballpark and online anywhere in Arizona.”

Two sports bets across the street

On the same day, Ducey signed the documents that give 10 Licenses to state sports organizations and 10 to the tribes that Phoenix Suns Partnership with FanDuel.

The Suns and FanDuel plan to open sports betting at Phoenix Suns Arena and start mobile AZ sports betting via license.

Chase Field and Phoenix Suns Arena are a two block walk from downtown Phoenix.

Caesars pushes forward

According to a press release, Caesars is planning a “first-class sports betting and bar concept” for the space outside the Diamondbacks Stadium.

The company recently completed the acquisition of William Hillwho opened the first sports betting in a US professional sports venue in Capital One Arena in the Washington, DC

Other ballpark sportsbooks have been announced, including a DraftKings sportsbook in the Chicago CubsWrigley Field and BetMGM at the Nationals Park in DC

Sports betting and a round of golf

DraftKings was the first operator to claim a partner in Arizona April 14th. A “visually breathtaking 19th hole experience” is promised at TPC Scottsdale.

The course hosts the PGA tour‘s Waste Management Phoenix Open every year at the same time as that Super bowl. DraftKings is a PGA Tour partner.

Due to its party-like atmosphere, the Waste Management Open is a sporting event of the bucket list type. That party will likely be stepped up when Phoenix dies Super bowl in the 2023.

Important partners from Arizona are still on the board

DraftKings and FanDuel have their partners. And it looks like AZ Sportsbook will be launched with the goal of previously stated NFL start.

The most important still decoupled organizations include:

  • Phoenix Coyotes
  • Cardinals of Arizona
  • Phoenix International Raceway

Representatives of the organizations spoke during the legislative process. The cardinals State Farm Stadium will host the 2023 Super Bowl.

What about sports betting providers?

In recent winning calls, BetMGM and The score mentioned Arizona as a market to watch.

PointsBet is another logical assumption of how it should be 18th States by the end of 2022. The company has professional sports teams and tribal partnerships in several other states.

Sports betting timeline in Arizona

During the legislative process, the bill was given an emergency designation. The aim of the designation was to make it easier to start the NFL season.

On April 21, the Arizona Department of Gaming put his timeline. There was no explicit date, but an accelerated settlement process is required with the emergency invoice.

“The department is already working hard to develop rules and procedures to ensure the safety of the Arizona betting public as we plan to implement event and fantasy sports betting in the coming months,” said ADG director Ted Vogt said in the publication.
